Pop Pilgrims: RUSHMORE

“oh, we went to Rushmore.”

well this is fun. for the latest installment of their Pop Pilgrims series (the first i’ve seen since they deployed James Rocchi to Die Hard’s Nakatomi Plaza), The Onion’s AV Club sent Kyle Ryan back to St. John’s School in Houston, Texas, or as it’s better known: “Rushmore.” Ryan chats with a bunch of the folks there, all of whom were in some way involved or subsequently swept up in the saga of Max Fischer. it’s neat to hear about how the school informed the film and shaped its creator, and even cooler to hear the impact that Wes Anderson’s love letter to his former school has since shaped the way people think of it… Rushmore was definitely one way of giving back.
